JJ Kane Welcomes First Capitol Auction

On August 1, 2020, JJ Kane Auctions acquired assets of First Capitol Auction (FCA). FCA is headquartered in Vallejo, CA and specializes in vehicle and construction equipment auctions as well as government surplus auction sales.

This acquisition further expands JJ Kane’s government surplus auctions and increases JJ Kane’s presence in Northern California, to better serve regional buyers and sellers. FCA has a strong base of used construction equipment, consigned from regional rental fleets. You can now find even more late-model backhoes and loaders in JJ Kane auctions, from consignors like HERC. JJ Kane’s Dixon, CA yard will serve as the holding and storage facility supporting FCA regional consignors.

“We’re very excited to welcome FCA to the JJ Kane family and believe their exceptional reputation and long-standing history is a great fit for the company. Combining their operations with ours will support the long-term business goals for JJ Kane. One key focus is supporting buyers and sellers, as they exchange equipment on the JJ Kane auction platform,” said Dennis McIntyre, General Manager at JJ Kane.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic, FCA conducted live auctions six times per year. Due to public health concerns, FCA has successfully transitioned to quarterly, online-only timed auctions. Future FCA auction dates are available via the auction calendar at JJKane.com.

To help ensure a smooth transition for FCA customers, FCA’s owners, Eric Smith and Brian McKissack, will remain in active roles with the business as consultants.
